Washington (0-12, 0-9 Pac-10) is the nation's only winless team and the only 0-12 team in conference history. The Huskies have lost 14-straight games dating back to last season.

For Tyrone Willingham, it marked his last appearance as Washington's head coach. Over four seasons at Washington, Willingham posted an 11-37 record. He will be replaced by offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian of USC, who has signed a 5-year contract with Washington for $1.85 million per year. Sarkisian will be the Huskies 23rd coach in its 119-year history.

Washington took the opening kickoff and, on its first drive, sputtered with its regulatory three-and-out. On queue, that perfunctory performance set the stage for the "Best" show in town. On the second play of Cal's first possession, Best burst through an enormous hole and raced down the sidelines on a 60-yard TD run that gave the Bears a 7-0 lead at the 12:40 mark in the first quarter.

As if the Huskies hadn't seen anything yet, Best tore off an 84-yard TD run to give the Bears a 38-0 lead at the 13:57 mark in the third quarter.

Trailing 45-0, the Huskies matched that run in the third quarter when QB Taylor Bean crossed the goal line from 2 yards out, to finish off a 15-play, 65-yard drive. Bean replaced starting quarterback Ronnie Fouch, who suffered a concussion midway through the second quarter.

Fouch suffered an interception and fumbled the ball away twice, as part of a first half that featured four Husky turnovers.
